Re: Hello, Introducing myself... Newbie Here. :)
Oh and I went to Big W yesterday to stock up on all my dental supplies. I bought an electric toothbrush, but I think I might give it a miss for the first week. I got a few different sorts of toothbrushes, and also Sensodyne one just in case... also mouthwash, floss, toothpaste and some Wisp thing-a-ma-jigs...
I also stocked up on soft foods today. My pantry/fridge are now filled with soup, custard mix & yoghurt. I think I will be living on mashed potato for a while and if i get desperate I could always eat a jar of baby food - the pureed banana and pear is quite nice!

Hiya, yep its been beautiful weather! Hopefully it stays for a while, I am so sick of being cooped up inside on the weekends after being inside at work all day!
I did the second thought thing for so long, but once i had two more teeth pulled there really was no going back! i seem to have become obssessed with taking pics, I have given up trying with my camera because they just dont work, I use my iPhone but its really hard getting the same angle for a good idea! If you find a way let me know! I will post some as soon as I can see enough of a diference.
I have a spring coil inbetween my upper front tooth and my upper canine and the tooth inbetween doesnt have a bracket because its further back and there is no room, I am hanging for that spring to start pushing my wayward canine (that I affectionately refer to as "snaggletooth") back to where it should have been to start with!
As for stocking up good plan, the ortho I went to gave me a full on fancy as electric toothbrush its awesome but in the first few days its a bit harsh on sensitive teeth!
Are you using "ONiA" by any chance?
I found only the first couple of days needed softer stuff, but as for biting into things.... I'm still having issues!!!

Yep I agree! It's awful being inside all the time. We have spent the past few days in the garden and it has been divine! Garden is looking good too
I have tried taking a few photos, but they all end up blurry even with the macro setting on. My phone is useless at taking photos, so I may have to invest in a new camera... don't like my chances convincing hubby about that I'll let you know how I go!
No not with ONia. I have gone with Orthodontics SA. Friends of mine have used the same ortho and had great results, so she comes highly recommended... her abrupt manner leaves alot to be desired though. Thankfully I won't see her all that often... Only every 6-8 weeks
Her receptionist confirmed my appt today and she asked if I was excited - I lied and said I was I think the excitement will build as the week progresses, but for now, I am still feeling nervous. It's to be expected I suppose.
I booked into my dental hygienist to have a clean and descale on Thursday afternoon (surprisingly got right in), so looking forward to that then I'll be all set I think!
How are you? Are your teeth feeling ok? Any pain or anything? Did you take any pain killers the day you had them on?
Hopefully I'm not 'talking' your ears/eyes off! I tend to ramble on a bit! It's nice to have someone to share the journey with

Talk away, I agree definately nice to have some one to share it with, I think my hubby is sick of hearing about teeth to be quite honest.
I have yet to work out a good technique but I'm sure after daily photos for I don't know say 2 years, I might come up with something!
Yeah, I know people who have used Onia and have great results which helped choose them. That and they are the only ones who come here. Wouldn't want to have to travel every 6 weeks.
Good plan with the clean, I did that too, the day before they went on. I plan to do it evry 4 months I think he said.
Teeth are feeling pretty good. No pain as such, just a bit tender every now and then . But not every tooth. Like today for example one of my lower eye teeth is a bit tender but only that one, so its not too bad.
I thought I would need drugs on the day I think I took panadol about 5 because I had a head ache. I had my braces on a two, but had been feeling so nauseous and nervous I forgot to eat lunch so I think thats where it came from. The next day I took nurofen as they said it help with inflamation. But still it was first thing in the morning and for some reason i tried to eat toast Didnt hurt but took forever and chewing was awkward!
I can now successfully bite into a banana, (make sure toothbruch is handy as they tend to hide in the brackets )! and other than tough steak (which I will not try yet) haven't had any issues eating anything. Just takes longer.
Two weeks today and I had hoped I'd see more movement! But I do have a small spot that has changed and my teeth feel really loose so maybe week three will be my wonder week. lol
By the way... good luck with your little mans teeth, my sons took a while too got his first at 11 months. both his upper eye teeth had come out and I hadn't noticed! (oops)

Bron! How are you?
Glad to hear your teeth aren't too tender - except for that pesky eye tooth - must mean something is happening Good luck with your 'wonder week'
for managing a banana too! Good work! I am pretty sure I will be sticking to a liquid diet in the beginning. It's going to be great for my waistline!
My hubby is very supportive of my decision to finally get my teeth fixed, but I know he is sick of hearing "when I get braces" this and "did you know braces" that... I think it's mainly because he had them when he was quite young, and from what I can gather, it wasn't a very nice experience. So it kind of makes sense he's not that excited - But I refuse to let him rain on MY parade
Hope you are having a good day

So here I am my two week braceaversiary, complaining that I hadn't seen much other than a tiny space appearing that wasn't there before other than that I was feeling a little depressed that after looking at so many people pics that seem to have movement really early.
I was hoping for something when all of a sudden I saw it!
Taking my daily photo's I took one of my upper arch, and my upper central incisor that used to be sort of turned to the side, (albeit slightly), has now turned about 6 mm to the front and is straight.
Funny part is because the toothe next to it is on an angle I didnt even realise this one had to move!!! Yay me!
So as for having a good day, I'm having a great one now!!!
