Finally Got Braces at 21

So just came from my appointment...Got my #6 Bands placed on my upper jaw and the #7 placed on my lower left side and a #6 on my lower right side...(Look at me talking numbers and teeth lol...)

Anywho they couldnt get the #7 on the lower right side to they put the #6 in instead and they placed wire spacers on the right side (that was not cool....it really sucks...from they time they put it in) Not looking forward to the pain tomorrow brings


So they also couldnt get the #6 bands on the lower left side so they placed normal blue rubber spacers....


So im all banded on my uppers and half way banded on my lowers....urgh so they didnt bother to put the long wire connected to the bands below so i still have my short wire that ends at the last bracket...

Next appointment is on the 27th...Hope these spacers do their job...I dont want to have them in after that...

I took purple this time i like it way better than the blue ones...

Had my appointment today...

It went well.. I got a power chain on my front upper 4 teeth & my 2nd set of lower bands....So im all set tell my 1st adjustment...
I got royal blue ligs....wanted pink but my ortho only have dull colours bcuz i guess not a lot of people like flashy colours on their teeth...

Sighs im sad...i wish i could order my own ligs if only...

He had 3 shades of blue, orange, purple and 2 shades of green on is colour chart...how lame....

No pain to talk about..hope it stays this way...i'll upload pics when i get a chance.

Pics as promised....Liking this blue...but still wanted a pink......sighs....im hoping to see movement with this power chain on my front teeth...I can feel the pressure already.




The last pic i tried to get an image of my left side that has a 2 link pwer chain on my lower premolar to try and rotate it i guess...(didnt even kno it needed rotating)

Oh and i read my chart today...i have Class 1 malocclusion.

Have you seen a lot of change in your teeth this past month? The blue looks really nice! It's a shame your ortho doesn't have many colours to choose from (does he treat kids?? I thought they'd love bright colours)

I have had my braces put on now and they've been in for a week. Starting to notice a few little changes here and there!

HA, Well I am definately going to stay tuned and see you're progress, it is going to be amazing! My front teeth are portruded, and I am seeing a slight change in only 6 days!
I can't wait to see you're teeth shift, and myself-lol
But yeassss! We both have a long way to go, but HEY! We ARE going to make the best out of it


It's such a relief to not have to THINK about braces, but to actually have them on and going and doing there thangggg' lol

Yes it is great actually having the braces and not thinking about having to safe and do extractions and cleaning and any other prep work before getting the braces fitted. For me it took almost 6months from impressions to braced day!

I wish I was brave enough to experiment with colours! Yours look great. I had said that I would give colour a try at some point in my treatment but so far haven't gone round to it. Maybe I will use you as my inspiration

Dont be afraid.........You'd be surprised at how well/positive people respond to it....

My friends and family actually look forward for my ortho visits just to see what colours i am getting......

Makes me wanna surprise them wid a new colour everytime

Hope u build up the courage.....U can try just lowers or uppers at a time and ease ur way into full coloured

Yes i am sure of it...My front teeth can now touch my lower central teeth wid the help of my lower jaw pushed up a tad bit..

Still it never used to touch before when i did that...
And its a lot straighter......
So im glad.............

The gap is filling in and its straightening nicely...

Heyy!! I just joined the forum and its really inspiring to read all your stories and it gives me more motivation to go on. I am also 21 and getting braces the 9th october but first 4 tooth extractions 6th october which actually scares me more than the braces. The blue color def looks good and its amazing how soon you can see the changes! I have overbite and one teeth is more backwards than the other, never really had a complex before tmj and bruxism showd up bcus of the bad bite so feel like i have to fix my bite before i ruin my teeth, straight nice teeth is a big bonus! I think i am gonna go for ceramic ones, theyre a bit more expensive but i have thin lips and are afraid braces will be too visible.

As for extractions. There's nothing to worry about. I mean once its not wisdom tooth. That I don't kno about. But the regular ones were no pain at all. It just felt weird wid a Space in your mouth. Also I heard sum people get dry socket or food stuck up in the gaps and they get infected. But once ur careful not 2 chew food there or stick ur tongue in tthe holes to poke around u'd be fine.

By the way welcome to the forum. I hope to follow your story as well. Congrats on taking the plunge and fixing ur bad bite.

Ceramics weren't an option for me because offf cost.
But i've heard that the actual brackets are larger than the metal ones and I was worried about closing my lips over them. So I went widd metal. Plus I ghet pretty coloured ligs each visit
