So today is day 3, obviously nothing's moved but I swear some of my teeth are loose! Eating is so annoying and I just went out to eat for the first time! Olive Garden is totally braces friendly! I don't really need anything for pain it's very tolerable just again... Annoying lol. I love my bottom braces far more than my tops. Tops are the self ligating and they are more white than clear and I think almost as noticeable as metal! The bottoms are SO clear I still cannot see the rubber bands vs the brackets! I wish I had the regular ceramic on top but ugh what can ya do. Oh another thing I guess I don't understand how my teeth can move with the expander still in... Am I an idiot? lol I don't get how they can with te expander holding those teeth in place.. Am I missing something?!

So a lot of changes since my last post. I had my first adjustment in February and they put in thicker wire and put a power chain type band between #11 and #12 as a gap formed between those two. They also took the bracket off #32. Pain the first day but was fine again after that.

Today was adjustment #2 and I got pink bands on the bottom this time. Going in I had lots of questions. I first asked about my bite block on #15 as it had worn almost all the way down. She said it was good to let her know as it let her know when it comes to retainer time it means I'll need a thicker one (and no I do not grind my teeth!) She did end up polishing it off but said she may put it back next time. I also asked when #7 was going to join the party and she said they need to make room for it first. She said they were trying to make room so they could put a spring on so it made even more room for it. I got brackets put back on #'s 18, 32 and 2 with thicker wire on both top and bottom. And this is where it got fun.... So the ortho came over to check everything over when she was done and he asked why #7 was left out and she said she thought he would have wanted to put a spring there eventually. He said to bring it in next time and she said "well I can do it now!" So all my wires were already tied in.. He opens the door on my bracket and shoves (pretty hard mind you!) the wire into the door and he held it in while she shut it. Can you say OW?! He said that that it was going to hurt but if I was in EXCRUCIATING pain to call and he would take it out. Then I was all done. Made another appt for 7 weeks from now. My appliance is STILL in.. Ugh! Last time I asked when it would come out and he said not next time (which was this time) but NEXT time! So when making my appt I asked the assistant and she said not next time but the NEXT time. I was like what the hell that's what he told me last time and I should be getting it out next! She made the next appt longer incase it does come out. God I sure hope so!

I went home, ate some lunch, took a nap (love naps!) and woke up in the worst. pain. ever! He said it would hurt but man!!! My whole midline is off now too from bringing #7 in. I hope this pain goes away fast like it did my last adjustment. Our whole family is going out to dinner tomorrow for my mother in laws birthday to my FAVORITE restaurant. Ugh lol

I hate that my midline is off now- my whole bite is off! Everything shifted that way and makes my cross bite look and feel so much worse hopefully it gets better ...

I am sorry that you are not happy, but I honestly think you have made great progress already! Your teeth look much straighter already.
I don't think your crossbite is so bad and I find your face and smile beautiful!

Thank you anna5 I don't know that I'm unhappy...I'm very happy and thankful for my braces more so just crabby that my mouth hurts so bad! Everything is still very sore today. Throughout the day I ended up taking 1,200 mg of ibuprofen (4 200mg tablets around 7am, another 2 200mg around 1:30-2 and 325mg of Vicodin (around 5pm) and nothing has even touched the pain yet! I'll get through it show...

No pain no gain right?!
