I am really not looking forward to being able to brush properly. I'm worried that I'll end up with a load of cavities But I guess after going through all this, having a few fillings done will be a breeze in comparison! I have bought my baby toothbrush in preparation though... it has mermaids on it, much cooler than my normal toothbrush!! Are you very worried about brushing?
That's cool that your boss has experience of it, having an understanding boss makes things a lot easier. Although you could probably do without the horror stories!! Did his go badly?
Oh no mouth ulcers are so miserable Are they from your braces rubbing? I used to get some terrible ones but touch wood haven't had one for a while. You need to crack out the bonjella! Hope you feel better soon!

I have a jaw bra. I used and LOVED it for my SARPE last year. I might get some extra ice packs for it b/c they take a long time to freeze. I got two sets of ice packs with the jaw bra, but I remember wishing I had a third set for my SARPE b/c they were taking so long to freeze.
I've got a Vitamix blender. It can literally blend a cellphone, so I'm set in that department.
Just bought a wedge pillow for sleeping upright, a bed tray with folding legs for eating etc. in bed, and a juicer. I bought them online so haven't received them yet. I did not have any of these for my SARPE, and I kind of wished I did, so I'm getting them now. I was eating soft foods a couple of days after my SARPE so I was OK on nutrition, but this time I'll be banded shut. I thought the juicer could be good for getting more nutrients from veggies and such.
I'm starting to make a bunch of chicken stock and bone broth to freeze. I'll have some to drink, and also to make soup and stuff.
I'm trying out some organic baby food packets that squeeze right out of their pouch. Hopefully I can use those for quick meals. (here: http://www.ellaskitchen.com/ )
I've also started "pinning" smoothie and blended soup recipes so I have ideas on hand. I'm going to try to make and freeze some soup ahead, too.
My husband is going to visit his family after Christmas, and either my mom or my sister is going to be here to help me when he's out of town. That's why I'm trying to get this much food figured out ahead of time. I don't want to leave it to them to figure out what/how to feed me Plus, I know for the first week at least I probably won't be cooking anything (at least not from scratch) and I want to have plenty on-hand that my husband, myself, and my family can heat up without thinking about it.
I'm not going to even be in the hospital overnight (it's more affordable that way and insurance might not have approved a longer stay) so I don't need all of the eye masks or ear plugs. They might be a good idea if you're in the hospital a long time -- honestly I was so doped up on morphine after my SARPE that I could have slept through anything. Your mileage may vary
I do. My family lives far away and one of my sisters is in chemo right now so she needs a lot of assistance too. I'm super lucky they offered to come take care of me!oimysizex wrote:
