Surgery

#16 Post by AngelaMiller »

If you decide on surgery, make sure you get more than one opinion.

You will probably get different opinions on how to correct your problem, and you should decide what route will be best for you.

For you braces and surgery, you might see if you can find doctors who use computer simulations to try to anticipate the outcome of orthodontia and surgery.

And also, if I get surgery I may have a rhinoplasty as well because my nose is very large for my face and also has that bump on the upper portion, maybe from a previous fracture that I didnt know I had (football??? haha)

You know....if you have bsso (lower pulled foward), then your nose will look smaller and much more in proportion to your face - you might just want to shave down the bump.

As to cost and recovery, that will depend on what you need done. From what I have seen here, just lower surgery is a much simpler recovery. There are a lot of old posts if you care to search for them about cost. I was quoted close to $35,000 for upper/lower/septoplasty.

As with anyting this important, get several opinions before making any big decisions.
