Hi Rage31

Thanks for your post!

I haven't been so well recently so haven't been posting much at all. Just thought I would give a little 55 or is it 56 week update?!

Can't wait for my next adjustment, its longer than usual and my brace is catching all the time!

I've stained it again with curry but hey never mind!!!

Hi Sarah!

I work with a lady who has FM and at times it really gets her down. But she always seems to rally and rebound. I hope you feel well soon.

Your teeth are looking fantastic! They have really come a long way!

SGGUY - don't make me blush!!

Laurie I'm also having tests at the moment as alot of my symptoms are extremely similar to MS, I have to go for an MRI scan soon. Fingers crossed its not MS but I guess if I do have it then at least I know exactly what I am dealing with. Fibromyalgia is such a strange condition and has so many variables...

59weeks... Not much more to do with the top row, just closing up the gaps and pulling back a little.

Image

Finally the twisted tooth on the bottom row is coming into line. Just added a 3wk and 59wk comparison.. Its a little blurry but I think you can make it out!!

Image

The Ortho doesn't think i'll need to use elastics for the home straight, which is excellent news as I suffer with TMJ problems and elastics would be particularly painful!!

Elastics are bad for TMJ? The whole purpose I'm getting braces is the close the gap between all my molars after brining my jaw forward in the attempt to treat TMD...and my ortho says the elastics will be what bring those teeth together. Will I not be able to talk, chew, etc. while wearing them? Unless he says I only wear them at night or something...

Your teeth are looking great Sarah! I hope that if elastics are in the future for you, that they don't aggravate your TMD too much. Here's to good news regarding the tests.

I don't know a lot about fibromyalgia but I understand that there are various things that can be helpful for different people, although as you say its one of those conditions that can vary widely between sufferers.

take good care of yourself.

Hi everyone

Had my adjustment on Friday, wow what pain I was in! Old twisty is nearly in position having spent a weekend in alot of pain with a powerchain on the lowers to move things along...

Spoke to my ortho about my health problems, i'm off to see a neurologist in Southampton on the 10 July for further tests. I've seen one specialist who diagnosed me with M.E. and Fibromyalgia but now my symptoms are more specific to other autoimmune disorders so I will be checked out for M.S.

My ortho said to me that my tops are 99% done and my lowers will hopefully have caught up by the next appointment on the 20 July, he said that in reality he thinks another 2 to 3 months with my brace on would be sufficient..

SO fingers crossed it looks like September might be the month I get my braces off..

I won't post any pics until after my next adjustment as my teeth really aren't moving very much anymore. The gaps have closed up so its now just a waiting game. The upper wire hasn't changed for 5 months and my teeth have now levelled out really well..

I excited at the prospect of coming to the end of my brace journey..

:D :D

Yeah i'm glad that the end is in sight for me... The ortho did say that in theory he could keep the braces on for say another six months if we wanted to be really picky about alining, but my mid line is virtually meeting on uppers and lowers, the only issue that i'll have is a little gap on each side on the lowers, just a couple of mm but he said that my molars would push forward to fill the gaps over time with my wisdom teeth nearly pushed through.

Well old twisty has certainly moved into place the past few weeks!!

I'm looking forward to only a couple more adjustments according to my Ortho... The tops have been levelled out as much as possible and now they are waiting patiently for the bottoms.

Due to my health problems i'm not going to continue with my treatment to get myself absolutely perfect.. But he said that in all honesty my tops were 99% ready at the last adjustment and it was just a matter of getting old twisty into position and then we are on the home straight.

He did said that he would be leaving a bit of a gap on each side on the bottom as my wisdom teeth are pushing through and they will need about 2mm each side to push through correctly..

I'm desperately counting down the days until I visit the hygienist as i've got pretty stained teeth after having to use an anti inflammatory mouth wash for a week not so long ago. Due to my wisdom tooth coming through the gum

Anyways here are the piccies.. I really can't believe the difference in the bottoms... Twisty was SO twisted before and now its perfectly positioned!!!
