invisalign

#31 Post by sadpanda »

I said earlier in the post that I didn't think Invisalign would work for my case, but now I've officially been told by the ortho that I wasn't a candidate for it because of all of my overbite, overjet, and jaw alignment problems. He said Invisalign is often for people with cosmetic issues or for people who already had braces once.

2. Evaluated Invisalign but it didn't work for my particular case

I wanted it but they said it wouldn't work for my case. Went to two orthodontists both said the same thing. Wish I could have gotten it. I don't like regular braces at all.

Invisalign vs Braces

#33 Post by yangortho »

Invisalign can correct mild to moderate cases, but it can be difficult to correct severe cases with Invisalign. For patients with bite problems such as excessive overbites and underbites, Invisalign would usually not give you as predictable of a result as regular braces can. Having said that, Invisalign does have it's advantages and when used in the right situations, can deliver very good results.

I am No. 2. Initially I would have loved this option but it wasn't to be. Now being braced for a little over 3 months I know I would not have been able to achieve any results with invisalign. I would love to take these braces off, now and every other day....lol
I would slacken off and in time not wear them at all. This fixed appliance is my only option and I am so very happy with the results so far even with all the discomfort..

#2 also. I asked about Invisalign, but was told my bite, TMJ and jaw alignment issues couldn't be corrected by Invisalign.

1, 2, and 4.

I'm a cheapskate lol. Invisalign just wasn't feasible due to how bad my teeth were. And I knew that metal braces would be faster, more durable, and have less room for human error on my part. Plus there are things about Invisalign they don't tell you about in the brochures, like the knobs they sometimes have to glue to your teeth. Invisible? Hardly!

Invasalign was not a viable option for me. My crowding in front was too severe to be treated effectively with invisalign.
