Re: Insurance Concerns

#31 Post by bracedhubbyswife »

I am new here! I am here on behalf of my hubby who I kept telling to join but wouldn't. Anyways, we found out 4 DAYS before the surgery (SARPE) that he was denied. I was livid. There was no way we could pay for the full amount. The office staff of his surgeon are horrible and after having the ortho call over and us calling a bunch of times, they finally sent what was needed to our insurance and we were TOLD it was covered. My hubby didn't really have a choice whether or not to have this surgery. He really needed it. We have Anthem BC/BS out of New Hampshire and I am just praying we don't have a fight when we get the bill. I am terrified! I am only expecting to pay our max out of pocket and even that was a bit much for us right now. I can see how his mouth and the issues he has really is a medically necessary and not cosmetic. I have a halfway decent smile, but I did go in to the ortho for a consultation a few years ago and was told I would need SARPE to correct the issues. I have a feeling because of my teeth and mouth, mine might be a big harder to get approved. (which after seeing him go through all this, I'll still to having my overbite and crossbite!) Anyways, best of luck to everyone here! I am praying we have no further issues with our insurance!
