No facemask, but now the springs are out and the bite has been over corrected. May be looking at the expander coming out at the end of the month (11 months almost). Then getting my new overbite settled in place.

Good luck to you too. I’m grateful I didn’t have to go the surgery route.

I’ll post some pics. Not much changed. Expander wider. 20 days and it may be gone.

My expander and springs are out. Now we are trying to match my lower bite up with the upper. I have lingual buttons to attach elastics from the lower inside of my #5 tooth to the upper outside #5 tooth this isn’t showing much progress. The next thing to try is a bottom expander if this doesn’t do it.

Hey ShawnT,
Just read your story...that is a lot of hardware. Glad to hear they're out and hopefully you can avoid the lower expander. I'm a 3rd timer also and understand how frustrating/protracted treatment can be. Hopefully, all will be resolved in the near future.

All the Best,

Jethro

Two more buttons added today for more force from inside lowers to outside uppers. Elastics going straight from button to bracket then a box around both buttons and both brackets. I’ll try to post pics soon. I think my orthodontist is doing everything to avoid the bottom expander.

Been busy but I’ve had some changes with my orthodontic adventure. Still in braces, after the top expander, my lower arch is still a little narrow so my molars aren’t matching. We’ve been trying buttons on the inside of my molars on the bottom to the brackets on the outside. But, it’s Not working. I’ll be getting a lower expander now. He said it would be a removable one. Not sure why removable? May ask him. I would rather it just be in. Appointment on the 18th this month then a couple weeks after that I’ll get my expander I’m guessing. I’ll post pics of the buttons soon then the expander when that happens.

Sorry to hear there are complications... Maybe it will be removable so it is easier to eat/talk and keep clean?
Also, I agree, would be interesting to see photos of the buttons/elastics and then the expander, I don't know I've seen that kind of treatment on this forum.
Hang in there!

No so much as complications as much as my teeth are stubborn...guess I have a good root system. I’ll find out about the expander on the 18th of this month. Pics coming soon.
