Re: New to the board
That left upper lateral sure has changed the most.
I'm not noticing any changes over here either. I feel as if this archwire was done a long time ago. Oh well next adjustment is in five days. I see yours is pretty soon too. Hope it goes well again.

I feel that way about this wire too - even at my first adjustment I was bummed they did not change it.
Oh Well, adjustment in 12 days so hopefully I will get a new wire!

Hello TrustGodAuburn,
You have already made nice progress, congratulations!
What are your dental issues? It seems like you have a bit of a crossbite (like I do), does your ortho think he can fix this with braces or were you recommended surgery (I was, but refused....)I wish you very good luck with your treatment, I am sure your results will be great!

Re: New to the board
Hi Anna - thanks for your comments.
I know this is going to sound bad, but my orthodontist did not give me a breakdown of my problems. I did not realize I should know all of this until I came to the board and read how much other people know about their treatment.
I have pretty bad crowding on the bottom and several rotated teeth on the top and bottom. He did not indicate any problems with my bite and no surgery necessary.
I do have a 2 and a half to 3 year sentence (maybe longer). Right now he is aligning everything and then he will decide whether he can make everything fit or if it will be necessary to remove 4 teeth. I am ANTI removing teeth, but I understand that it may be necessary. Seems like I should get to keep them all! HA! I do still have my wisdom teeth also. I asked if they needed to be removed to make more room and was told he would remove other teeth and not my wisdom teeth if it comes down to taking 4 teeth out.

Well, 7 days until my 2nd adjustment. I am ready! I think! Ready to see some progress, not so much ready for the pain.
Re: New to the board
Welcome, you always lose some weight which is usually a good thing.

I can tell a difference in your wires on the last pics your posted. The right side of the pic has noticable change.

Thanks! I have definitely seen the change on that side, but it's been pretty much the same since my last lig change, I hope I get a new wire next week so I can see some changes again!

Re: New to the board
Well, I went for my 2nd adjustment this morning.
Not much to report. I got a new upper archwire - 16 gauge this time. So I'm hoping something will start happening up there again. I also have the figure 8 lig ties again on the upper arch.
Lower arch did not do anything, still have the same wire.
He told me today that my top is going to be just fine, but that he is most likely going to need to pull bottom teeth and since he has to pull the bottom two he will have to pull two on the top too - even though the top doesn't need it. That freaks me out. BUT, he said he would make that decision in 6-9 months. He was supposed to be telling me that in about 4 months...oh well. I think my teeth are stubborn and will move slow regardless. This makes me anxious that I will be in these braces for 3 years. UGH.
Oh well! Oh and I let my daughter choose my colors again - so I have turquoise on the top and orange on the bottom. I was really hoping to do red and green for Christmas, but I didn't think about the timing and I won't have another adjustment until Dec. 30...so I will have to catch the red and green colors NEXT Christmas. LOL.
I'll post a pic later.

Re: New to the board
just as an FYI- I believe you can schedule a lig change anytime you want... so you CAN still have red/green for XMas
That is my plan for sure

Argh!!!! Yes, my upper arch even hurts to touch it with my tongue. And I noticed that when I try to drink or swallow that my front 4 teeth on top hurt something crazy! I'm not sure I know what I was thinking wanting a new wire!!! Lol
It's 1:38am and I'm awake with the mouth pain. Just took some Advil, hoping it helps soon.
