Thanks, xpx1.

At my most recent appointment on 3/9/15, I got IPR done on my bottom teeth. I believe 3 gaps were created on the right side, starting from the middle teeth, so that the teeth on the left can shift. Before that day, I hadn't been experiencing much pain because my teeth had stopped moving. Well, that changed once space was made and the power chains were placed. I had to take ibuprofen for the first time in months.

The gap between the two top front teeth has closed, so I'm making some progress. Next appointment, I'm supposed to get complex wires. If any of you know what that is, can you please tell me? Thanks.

On 4/28/15, I got my finishing wire. I also got more IPR done on my bottom teeth. Now I know what a complex wire is. My orthodontist put a lot of bends in my bottom wire, less bends on the top. My teeth still need a few more weeks/months to straighten. I was hoping that I'd be more close to getting my braces off that I am, but hey, it's a process and I'm going to continue to be as patient as possible. Right after getting my new wires, I was barely able to bite down on my back teeth because my front teeth still flair out and was impairing the ability of my back teeth meeting together. I guess my teeth have shifted because now my back teeth are touching... I liked the days when I could in, get a new wire, or get my ligs/power chain changed without much pain. The last couple of tightenings have been painful since they included IPR and that stiff finishing wire. I believe my orthodontist is focusing on closing my gaps. I'll really be happy when I see my front teeth moving inward, and when that stubborn canine tooth on the bottom left side of my mouth moves behind the top teeth
