Power to me to! Haha, I'm 30 and have only just gotten mine now. I couldn't afford to do it before, I am so proud of myself, even though m really shy now and insecure, this feeling will pass.
Good for us man, I'm super excited for you and your journey as I know what it means for me.

I'll be getting them soon - at the ripe old age of 38. I have a co-worker (a police officer) who just recently got them and he's 42. I think I'll feel like a BIG KID again (even though I already do). :-D

I still cannot understand for the life of me, why there is this unwritten rule in society that says braces are a "kid thing." WHY??!!!

They are basically a medical (dental) device that corrects a ton of different problems. Name me one other thing that corrects issues in the medical/dental profession that has a "kids only" rule. It makes no sense. Some people seem to be shocked and confused when they hear or see an adult with braces.

I think more people are used to seeing adults with braces these days though (now more than ever). I expected far more shock from others than I received. Most people were very cool about it and it was no big deal to them.

I got mine about 6 weeks ago at 38 years old!! I'm looking at 2+ years in braces and jaw surgery. Hopefully it will go by quickly!!

I had brackets only on my upper four from ages 9 to 17 due to a parent not paying the orthodontist and refusing to take me in for removal. My second time in braces started at a few days before my 29th birthday. Hopefully I have just a month or two left in braces!

I had my braces a few days before my 52nd Birthday !! Oct. 30th 2013. Will be having lower jaw surgery Spring 2015.
