Another wayward molar !
Hey Doc, got a problem with this molar in the band moving inward. Can this be corrected with elastics or should the last molar be bracketed and on the archwire?

Hi Chris,
maybe I can give a hint, as I had and still have molars that drift inwards,
due to having all those elastics pulling it. Once, it was way further inward
than what shows on your pic, and my ortho made a horizontal bend in my
archwire and it indeed moved back very quickly. Another time, an elastic
was put from the inside of that molar to the outside of the one on top.
Like a crossbite elastic. That too worked quite well. Now, as I told it is
still inward, this is because I still had bite closing and class 2 elastics, that
moved it back inward. So my ortho corrected this molar, but the cause of
it moving inward stayed. So I guess later on, he will have to correct it
again one way or another. Anyway, as I see it on your pic, this correcting
job can be done in a very short time, about 2 to 3 weeks max. Really.
PS. Hey Chris, it is nice to see that you give us more pics lately. Thanks !
And this pic shows a really nice lower arch. Congrats !

I had a really wayward molar so my ortho banded my last two molars. Wasn't what I want but 6 weeks later it is back inline. Mine was far worse than yours so your ortho migth not have to go to that extreme.

2.6 years (30 months) with Invisalign plus 19 months 2 weeks with metal braces to achieve the perfect smile.
Hey, thanks for the replies, guys. Appreciate it. I've got a "kink" in the archwire right now to raise it up a bit as it has sunk in a bit. I'm wondering if all this could have been avoided if he just banded the back molar to begin with.
P.S. Clo, yes the arch is pretty good, just wish the bite were. I've got the opposite of what you have, my back molars don't touch but the front teeth do. Of course, I don't want to trade your open bite for my deep bite.
