I haven't posted here in a while - finished my treatment in August. Got wires on top and bottom plus an invisalign like retainer for the bottom and a plate for the top.
The plate basically fits perfectly in the roof of your mouth.
I think that a tooth on the top (that is not being held by the wire) has pushed in a bit. Not a significant amount - but enough that I notice a difference when I smile.
I'm assuming this happened b/c I do not have an invisalign-like retainer for the top holding everything in place? The plate ensures the teeth remain where they are near the gum, but I guess doesn't protect against the bottom portion tipping in.
I am going to the Ortho on Friday for a checkup.
What do you guys think - would the Ortho remove the wire and go back to my last aligner? Or would the last aligner not push the tooth back out to the proper position?
I have tried putting the last aligner on just to see - of course, it doesn't fit perfectly b/c now I have the wire. But I can see that the tooth does not fill the bubble out quite like it used to.
Hope that makes sense.

No one responded - not sure if it's because my post was unclear, or if nobody has been in my situation.
Anyways, I went to the ortho and he said that I am going to have elastics. He told me thought all along I would need them, in order to keep the teeth fully in place.
There will be a hook attached to the bottom retainer and a button attached to the top teeth.
I don't have the attachments yet - so no pictures! I only have to wear the elastics at night.

Speaking for myself, I only really began my Invisalign education the day I got the trays (so much for doing homework ), so in this short time I have certainly not encountered your situation. However, would be curious to see some pics that illustrate what you're discribing. Who knows, what you're going through could be an eventually for any of us here .....
