Rembrandt for Canker Sores

#1 Post by KittyW »

My braces have been on 5 days and I am in canker sore hell. Several years ago I discovered Rembrandt's fluoride toothpaste for canker sores. My dentist told me to find a toothpaste that didn't have sodium laureth sulfate in it. Sodium laureth sulfate is a detergent that gives toothpaste, shampoo and soaps "lather". It agravates canker/mouth sores too. To my knowledge, Rembrandt for canker sores and their new toothpaste for sensitive teeth are two of the few that DO NOT have sodium laureth sulfate. Read the labels carefully.

I "rediscovered" the Rembrandt yesterday. I think I stopped using it several years ago because a 3 ounce tube runs $8.69. Not cheap, but let me tell you, after brushing with Crest yesterday and having my mouth feel like I'd rinsed it with acid, I was willing to fork out any dollar amount to stop the pain!

If you haven't tried the Rembrandt, I HIGHLY recommend it. No burning or stinging when you use it. :) Your screaming mouth will feel calmer after you use it.

P.S. "regular" Rembrandt toothpaste still has sodium laureth sulfate in it.

Wow thanks for the suggestion! I have a canker sore on each side of my mouth and they really hurt! The part on my bands are rubbing on my cheek and they are causing the canker sores. Thanks again! :D

THANK GOODNESS someone else has discovered this little "secret".

I keep posting and PM-ing people about this and I don't think they believe me. :-+
I have just about give up my quest...

I use Kiss My Face triple action toothpaste (available at Drugstore.com) and it's $8 a tube. Glad to see that a main-stream company is producing something. :D

Where do you buy it??

I hope more and more people believe us! They could relieve so much suffering. :!: :!: :!:

I've been using Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash since my first week of canker sore hell, and it works great too (the toothpaste does not contain SLS and the moutwash has no alcohol in it)! I bought both products at my regular drug store...they are a little more expensive than regular tooth products but well worth it--I haven't had a canker sore since that first week!

Ive been using Rembrandt canker sore toothpaste for my work toothbrush and I was wondering why the heck there's no lather. I guess this thread gave me an answer. So am I suppose to add more toothpaste as I brush, since it might feel like i need more? And ye, its quite expensive. By the way, I dont have any canker sores, but im using the Rembrandt just for prevention purposes.
