genio

#1 Post by agentzero »

I'm a long time lurker but this is my first post. I'm scheduled for lower advancement (BSSO) in three weeks. From reading some of the posts, I've noticed some people getting genio along with the jaw surgery. I was wondering if the surgeon recommended genio or did you ask for it yourself and if you did what made you ask for it?

Also, i am planning on going to my parents house, which is two hours away from the hospital, after the surgery. Is this too far away? I am scheduled to stay in the hospital for one night following the operation.

My surgeon wanted to do genio on me, but I declined due to the cost. I think most of the time the surgeon wants to create the correct symmetry and proportions for the face, so the chin deficiency that sometimes accompanies an overbite requires genio.

Two hours will be a rough ride, I'm thinking. Take something to sip on while you're on the road and take it slow. Bumps made me a little woozy.
