I have to have refinements :(

I should be happy because I only had 17 trays total...minor straightening. The tops look good but I think one tooth could stand to move back a tad bit more. But my one stubborn bottom tooth isn't in place. It's still crowded on my bottom front. I'm a bit miffed b/c the ortho told me to just wear my bottom tray for 10 more weeks and she put some notches behind that tooth to push it out. Well, it's pushing but the tooth next to it is starting to turn behind the other tooth. It's just too crowded still!

No matter how much she wants me to wear them that long. I KNOW I'm going to need refinements. I called last week and expressed my frustration...that I see no need to wear it for 10 more weeks and then have to wait 6 more weeks (4 months!) to get my new trays in and asked for an appt. to go ahead and get my new impressions made. My appt. is today.

I feel like she's going to be aggrevated with me. But I just don't care. I'd rather get the process going now. They said that refinements do happen. I guess I'd just hoped it wouldn't happen with me, you know?

I think there is a lot with Invisalign that is uncertain, but such is life, right? Are the refinements included in the initial charge? What exactly are refinements? More trays?

Yes, refinements are when you finish your treatment if things aren't quite the way you want them or things just need tweaking. They are included in the initial price.

I do think she was irritated. She could have been just having a rough day. The waiting room was completely full.

I had to have impressions done and more pictures taken. I'm to wear my current trays at night only until my new trays come in. I have no idea how long I'll have to do the refinements.
