First meal in braces?

What was your first meal in braces?

Today I had chicken and wild rice soup with some buttery, fresh from the oven, corn muffins. Not too bad, I think...

Uhh, if I can remember, I think I had Mac and Cheese.....soft and good. My teeth hurt a lot so only soft things for the first two-three days. But that was over 3 years ago...

:D Went to McDonald's for my usual Mcnuggets and Coke w/fries and Apple pie and Sundae. I ate it there and made a total mess of myself    !Went home and cleaned my teeth or so I thought- that's when I bought one of those lighted dental mirrors from Walgreens. One of the best purchases I made.

Rice. I thought I was being very clever eating something so small and soft. Those tiny grains of rice got stuck everywhere! Thereafter, pasta and fish dishes, also a good option after adjustment day too.

It was a Friday and we almost always have Chinese takeaway on Fridays, so went ahead as usual. I only ordered soft things like chicken and mushrooms, but managed to get through it, just a little slower than usual.

3 pieces of white pudding and 1 piece of black pudding, my boyfriend thought it would be a good idea, then he asked me if i wanted my bread toasted, I said yes ( bad idea!! ) so i put the pudding into the toasted bread and munched away, VERY slowly!

My teeth hadn't really started to hurt at that stage so it wasn't as bad as dinner that evening, but every little bit of those braces were cutting my cheeks never mind those cleats ripping my tongue to shreds, pure torture!!

I had mashed potato, mashed carrot and parsnip for dinner! (I learnt my lesson!)

I need to make a trip out to my Walgreens tomorrow, Tin Indian, so maybe I'll find one of those fancy dental mirrors you speak of...

And here it is in the middle of the night or early morning (5 am and can't sleep), but all I keep thinking about is mindykatz's broccoli and cheese soup. I may have to see what I can do about that when there is sun...
