Hello everyone...

I am 30 years old and have wanted braces for the longest time. So I am finally financially able to do this. All of my ortho - work started in April of this year... and I was just able to get in and get spacers put in yesterday. Wow, it took 3 dental techs to get my top left ones in. And guess what... one of them already fell out... nice... huh...

I am getting full mouth braces put on - on Tuesday July 17th, I am so EXCITED...I will be cheking this site regularly as my time with the braces comes... I have read lots on here, and hace learned lots... what a great site this is.. glad I came across it in my search for a better smile.

Welcome, MamaRoo!

I get my braces the day before you do (July 16th!), but I got my spacers last week. Kind of a similar story to you, they had the hardest time fitting my spacers in, due to my molars being very friendly with one another (they are very close!). So in the end, I just have 2 around one of my crowns. It was very uncomfortable sitting in that chair while they attempted to put the spacers everywhere they should have been! 2 assistants plus my Ortho couldn't do it!

Glad to be able to share this exciting journey with you! Keep us posted on your progress!!

:D

Well I got my braces on yesterday... not bad... still not feeling pain, very slight pressure but nothing that isn't bearable.

The spacers didn't work... they had to go in and file down 4 of my teeth... wow... what fun that was... if any of you have ever had that done... it STINKS... and I mean literally stinks...

I went with Metallic Blue bands... have been complimented on them a lot..

Good luck to the rest of you ....

Hey MamaRoo!

I'm glad to hear that you're excited about it! I was, too! (I was braced in June) and, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to fix my teeth!

How did brace day go?

One week and 2 days later....

:D Things are going really well... last Thursday and Friday I had lots of discomfort, and sores starting in my mouth. I work in a position that has me talking most of the day so I am sure that was the source of most of the pain and sores.

Today I am doing great... pain free since sunday .. and all the sores are healed up... I barely notice that the braces are even on. People were noticing the braces the first few days that I got them on (again I am sure that it is becuase I have to talk all the time)... now they are just another part of me.

One thing that I have noticed is that every day a different tooth is painful when I bite down is this normal?... seems like they are each taking a turn. :D

Two Days!!!

#7 Post by michellemariebrown »

It's been two days since I've had my braces and they hurt :( I can't eat anything and I feel like someone keeps punching me in the face. I am hoping it will get better soon, I'm hungry!
