Spaces in between bonded retainer

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Spaces in between bonded retainer

#1 Post by tdc03 »

Do any of you have spaces in between your bonded retainer? I'm not talking about black triangles, I'm talking about a 1 mm space in between teeth that are bonded with a permanent retainer?

Should I ask my ortho about this?

I have a tiny space between my central and my lateral incisor (on the right side), but I don't worry about it. It's so tiny, nobody even knows it's there. Even I don't know it's there. What's the point of getting upset over something so little? Anyway, if you want to ask your ortho about spaces between your teeth with your permanent retainer, go ahead, but if it's only 1mm, it's nothing to stress out about.

No spaces here.

Best wishes.
