Bottom Tray 3 loose on right molar!

#1 Post by djrobsd »

My treatment does not include any movement of the molars, however I'm concerned now that I just put tray 3 in that there is a bit of play on the tray going over the molar on that side.

I can touch the tray with my finger and move it up and down..or bite down on it and it moves... The top molars and the bottom left molar do not move at all.

Should I be concerned that it's not tightly fitting over that tooth, or does it matter since I'm not really moving the molars anyway? The previous tray didn't have that issue, so I'm a bit concerned.

I'm not sure. Sometimes that happens on my bottom molars too. The trays want to kind of pop up off the tooth, but that goes away pretty soon, like after 12 hours. I hope this problem went away for you since you posted this 2 days ago. If it didn't then all I can say is ask your doctor.

i had the same thing happen with tray 5 that im on now.
same as john37 said, after a short period it went down fine like all the previous trays & i've had no other troubles with it.
started treatment 6 May 2008.
All up 34 Upper & 20 Lower.
Loving the invisalign, a great choice for correcting my teeth.

Yes, the tray fits great! Now I have a new problem though, I have 2 more days to go until changing to #4, and I cleaned my upper tray with a q-tip tonight because there was so much gunk. After cleaning, it doesn't fit tightly in the upper back left side over my last 2 teeth. They really aren't being moved, so I think it's mostly annoying!!!!! this thing is going to be moving up and down for the next couple days. I guess a q-tip is the wrong way to clean the aligners, as it can stretch them out so they don't fit right?!

djrobsd, I just use a hard bristled toothbrush and cold water to clean mine every time I take them out, then I keep them in a bowl of water so minerals from the water don't get dried onto them. Certain areas of the aligners get dirty and the brush doesn't work, but I have one of those little rubber pointy things at the other end of the toothbrush I use to clean those areas. I am careful to not use hot water or bend the aligners while I'm cleaning them.

The toothbrush is just one of those cheap ones. I use a sonicare for brushing my teeth.
