Inspire Ice?

#1 Post by npkfiresystems »

Does anyone know anything specific about the clear ICE braces? I run a business and really don't want to be walking around with traditional silver braces on my teeth, is this a good option?

I had them on my lower teeth. They're not visible from afar, but within about 3 foot I'd say they're noticeable, particularly in profile. And the wire is visible unless your ortho can offer coated wires (mine didn't).

Plenty of professional people wear metals.

If your treatment plan requires the use of elastics, it doesn't matter what bracket system you choose because they will most likely be visible too. Something to be aware of.

You'll also find that any interest shown in your braces will be shortlived. Others lose interest real fast.

Well I'm not gonna be wearing elastics, so that's not a concern, and I like the fact that they're less noticable than silver. Whoever has had these or had experiences with them in one form or another, your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again ALL

Well I don't know if mine are ICE but they are the clear ceramic brackets. At least on the top. On the bottom I have silver cause you can't really see them. I do like them. I have heard a few of the girls at the office say they dont' like working with them cause they are a bit bigger and harder to get the bands around. But for the most part I have been pretty happy with them. Really no problems?

I have Inspire Ice brackets on my top 6 teeth and metal everywhere else. I am very happy with their appearance and that I chose them over all metal. Yes, they are a bit bigger, but they are very discrete from a distance. When I was first showing off my new braced smile, I had several people ask me why I didn't have any braces on my top teeth. It was only when I got right in their face that they noticed the clear brackets.

The clear ligs stain though so I would suggest smoke or light gray instead-- especially if you consume staining foods like coffee, red wine, tomato sauces, mustard etc.

If I had it to do over, I'd choose them again, so yeah personally, I'd say go for them.

I think my uppers are ice- they are clear with ligs but my lowers are the ceramic in-ovation. (I don't know why I have 2 types!) The ice are quite large but are so clear and sparkly that they are actually quite pretty I think. Only problem is that the ligatures stain, pretty badly if you drink coffee & red wine and eat curry or other very coloured foods. I am allowed change my own ligs, so I would check this out before you decide or you may find yourself in the office every week to get them changed.

I find that after a few months you don't really care about whether anyone can see your braces anyway, but the ceramics are great at the beginning when you tend to be paranoid.

As an added bonus.. A lot of the time they don't show up in photographs unless it's really close up!
