I've Been Warned and Warned About This!......Duh

#1 Post by Lilypad »

I've heard it a million times.....DON'T wrap your Invisalign trays in a napkin! After a year of dealing with this I finally did it! Wrapped my last alligner in a napkin at work, put it in my purse, and sure enough it is on the MIA list! It's not a huge deal since I was sentenced to having a permanent retainer and wearing an essix only at night, but.........I was having a huge amount of pressure putting the essix in at night so I took it upon myself to wear my last Invisalign tray at work during the day. At my 3 month retainer check, I told my ortho of this and he said,,,well, thats exactly what I would have told you to do. Now I have to go to work Tuesday with the dreaded Essix in. It is much bigger and not as nearly form-fitting. It affects my speech still! DON'T EVER PUT YOUR INVISALIGN IN A NAPKIN! :-+

i never take my blue case out anymore, when out & about, i just take them out, rinse them, put them in my pocket, so far no problems *touch wood*
started treatment 6 May 2008.
All up 34 Upper & 20 Lower.
Loving the invisalign, a great choice for correcting my teeth.

I've taken mine out a couple times when I've been out and didn't want to carry my case. I wrap them in a paper towel and put them in my pocket. I'm more worried that I'll press my leg against something and bend or break them. The two or three times I had them in my pocket without the case nothing happened, so maybe I've been lucky.

I know the feeling.

I was on 15 at the time and was camping and kind of grossly kept the aligners on the edge of my paper plate covered in a napkin instead of putting them in my bowl by the sink as usual and sure enough, I threw them in the trash and then when I went to start flossing I went  and quickly ran and fished them out. Thank goodness someone hadn't already taken the trash out. And since then, its back to the bowl for me!

I put mine in a napkin and someone chucked them in the rubbish bin!

luckily I found them because I had a feeling that was where they had disappeared off to...and put them back where they belonged.

After a VERY good clean i might add haha

:D

Naplins & Invisalign = BAD IDEA  Also, one time we were drinking beer on the deck and for some odd reason I decided to put my aligner in the cooler. After we came in I brushed my teeth, opened the cooler and all the ice was gone. My friend had emptied the cooler into a flower bed. :yikes: After a quick seach of the impatients I found it. Luckily this was a year I had skipped adding manure!
