Stages of Straightening

Hi

Anyone know the stages that our teeth are put through to get them right. My two front top teeth were not in a perfect arch and the right one was a bit back as was the incisor next to it. For the first two months of treatment the ortho has been twisting the wire so now they have almost lined up in the arch but now look much (1.5mm) shorter than the teeth on the left front.

I once heard that they first get the arch right then the lining up of the height of the teeth. and then what?

Any input would oblige.
