Extreme sensitivity of bottom teeth after upper jaw surgery?

#1 Post by MissKitten »

I had a lefort osteotomy on Nov 6th. It went well, but I was only banded once on each side. I could open my mouth quite a bit. My bite wasn't lining up so on Thursday he put three more bands on, pretty heavy, and all across my front teeth and sides.

And now my front lower teeth feel like they're being yanked from their roots and it hurts when they touch the other teeth. It hurts enough to bring tears to my eyes. Do you think its because of the rubber bands pulling up on them? How long will this last?

I already got an extra week of Percocet that should last me until next Tuesday, and I did have Motrin I'm supposed to take with the percocet but I can't do it - I throw up. No matter what I do, within a half hour of taking the Motrin I'm throwing up. So it's just the percocet which works but now I'm having to take more.

Has anyone had this super super sensitivity with their bottom teeth? Did it go away when the bands were off? Do I have to live with this extreme pain for the next six to eight weeks? :(
