WaterPik Flosser?Too Good to Be True?

#1 Post by Jenn S »

I LOVE my WaterPik and so when I saw a battery operated WaterPik Flosser at Target I snatched it up. It seems too good to be true. Anyone else using one? Appreciate your feedback.

I don't have a WaterPik but I too snatched up the flosser right before I got braces thinking that it would save me a lot of time trying to floss. (Plus I'm not very good with flossing so I was hoping this would make me floss more.) I don't think it does as good of a job as regular floss though, although I'm sure it is better then doing nothing. I have a hard time getting the little floss nib thing down below the gum line and you can't pull it up between the teeth like you can with regular floss. For me the jury is out. It's OK if I don't feel like getting out the floss threader and spending 10 minutes flossing, but somehow I don't really feel like I've flossed when I've used it.

I haven't heard of this. I'll have to look for it!

Does the regular WaterPik help a lot with braces on?

I'm getting mine on soon, and was wondering...

It is too good to be true. I have one that I use occasionally, but it's not as effective as regular floss. You can't really get up into the gumline well enough to remove food particles or fit it inbetween really tight teeth. I use mine as more of a gum stimulator and then use regular floss afterwards.

I got it too, I think it works ok, difficult to use on the back teeth, it's a weird angle. none the less, it takes less time than regular floss, which i am horrible at!! I lvoe my waterpik, which i use daily, I use the flosser alternating with regular floss.

just had my first cleaning since having braces put on and both the dentist and hygeinist said my teeth were amazingly clean for having braces, so I guess everything I am doing must be working!!

I have a water pik and absolutely love it. I also ordered the pik pocket tips to get down into the gum line.
