splint

i had upper jaw surgery
just wondering for those who have had this done, when was your splint removed? and how do they take it out?

my splint was removed 6 weeks post op. I'm not exactly sure how they removed it but I know they used this special tool that kinda lifted the plastic sort of holding screw type thingers. It only took about an hour to remove but I'd advise you to have some pain killers on hand just in case its painful. If you have some prescription ones left over those would work otherwise advil will have to do (or at least something like that)

Mine came out after 3-weeks, he just untwisted the wires that held it onto the surgical hooks. Took about 10 minutes. Ahhh, the smell when they removed that thing... *laughs*
