Question - is your alligner supposed to move away from ...

#1 Post by melandy »

hi I am over a week into my first set of alligners and they seem to have moved away from my teeth closest to the gums - is this supposed to happen or have I stretched them in some way whilst taking them in and out ???? Not sure if this happens as your teeth move - I have been very strict with myself as to not take them out too often so I think I have them in for a total of 22 - 23 hours a day I dont eat or drink with them unless its water (I guess this will change as time goes by :0)

mine have usually fit pretty close to my teeth, but have been very tight when i switched to a new aligner, and get slightly looser towards the end of the 2 weeks- but haven't had them move away as you mentioned.

Before I had attachments my aligners would get quite loose the second week. These days less so, as my attachments hold them in place. I think it just means that your teeth are moving, which is a good thing!

thanks I just didnt know whether I had stretched my alligners whilst trying to get them out as I have 7 attachments on the top and 6 on the bottom its a real struggle to twist and turn them to get them out !!
