First - many thanks to this board because I was woefully underprepared by my surgeon and clinc.
First of all, the swelling is enormous. i don't know what they did to my bottom lip, but it is horrible. It looks like an inner tube and now has clear blisters the size of dimes. My feels tight and sore (still bandaged), my stiches itch and my bone graft throbs (stitches immediately under my tongue). I have a bump on my forehead the size of an egg. I emailed my surgeon and he said it's never happened before, but has to be from where they taped down the breathing tube.
Talking is impossible. It is hard to swallow pills and I'm surprised I can't get my mouth open more than a few mm;s. I can't spit!
I had a lot of problems with nausea after the surgery and also I think it is from the Norco. I am alternating with Ibuprofen and taking a reduced dose with helps the nausea, and not the pain. The clinic was supposed to call me in Tylenol 3 but they didn't. They suck.
On the positive:
Thankfully, my throat and nose hurt a little bit less from the breathing tube than yesterday.
I am so not doing this again. No more bone grafts, no BSSO.
Any encouragement appreciated.

Hi,
Thought I'd try cheer you up. You are only two days post op and maybe underestimated the pain involved with such a procedure but you can get through it.
The first few days/week is rough for most but I can only tell you that as time goes on and the pain and swelling subside you might be able to think more positively and feel more happy with your decision.
Some people have a higher pain threshold than others, myself for instance being allergic to painkillers had none after my surgery and never really needed them but have you tried using ice packs yet, they sometimes help with discomfort around the affected area?
Hope you feel better in a few days

I love you guys!! Thanks.
THe main problem was the nausea from the Norco. Once I cut back on that, it really is helping.
I've been sleeping in the recliner and hoping to get back to my bed soon.
I'Im hanging in there!!! Thanks everyone .....

i think we can all say we hit a wall around day 3 and 4 where you start thinking why the heck did i do this? day 5 i felt better, and my daughter got used to me...i slept in a chair for a bout a week and i hated it!!!! just keep thinking of the positive parts of your outcome i know you cant see it right now from all that lovely swelling but your new wonderful self is underneath...keep on smiling (or trying to) use lots of lip balm on those lips and drink drink drink it will help
