Different prices ? which one to go for ?

I have been quoted two different prices for invisalign. I am 27 years old, with crowding of bottom teeth, gap between top teeth, and an overbite.

One is $6800 for a 20-24 months treatment.

The other is $4800 for a 12-14 months treatment.

Both are premier invisalign orthos, I am just curious as to why there is such a difference in duration and price (I am not a simple case). The more expensive ortho told me that I would probably prefer to have a long treatment duration to prevent problems and relapse.

Any input ? I can provide links to both orhtodontists' websites if that is allowed.

Mine is a rather simple case, and my ortho told me to expect 10-14 months of treatment. I am rounding the corner toward refinements (I am almost 6 months into treatment). I think it is VERY difficult to estimate how long treatment will truly be before things get started (and even as they progress). Teeth can be stubborn, trays can break, etc.

I'd look more closely at what each ortho is offering you for the quoted price. Are you eligible for a mid-course correction, if needed? How many sets of refinements are included in the quoted price? Will the price of a retainer be included? I am paying $5050.00 in Chicago - but that is the uniform price my ortho charges for all braces. Some charge according to the amount of work they will need to do, and others have a uniform price.

All things equal, I think the type of treatment to be given rather than the time frame is most important when choosing which plan to go with.

I agree. Don't choose by price alone. Try and establish from each of them what they think needs fixing, how they plan to do it, and what the final outcome is likely to be. Also check what is included in the price, including the number of refinements, whether there are any additional costs and how far into retention that money will take you.

I would also suggest picking the one that you feel most comfortable with. It is likely that at some point in your treatment there will be decisions to be made about whether to do refinements etc. If you have someone that listens to your concerns the whole thing should work better.

To echo the sentiments above, there is a wide range of experience with regards to Invisalign treatment. Designations by Invisalign denote the volume of Invisalign patients seen by a doctor over a given period of time, but does not describe the quality, level of difficulty, etc of treatments provided.
