cuz once my braces are on and i dont like they way my face looks i dont think i can tell the orthodontist to take them off immediateley can I? LOL.

Many of us work in "professional" environments. And surely you have seen other people with braces. I find that people who are really afraid of how they are going to look do end up hating what they look like with braces.believer1964 wrote:which makes me look deformed. I was shocked by what I looked like at first, then I got over it. You're going to have these things on your teeth for a long time. You just need to go into it with an attitude of acceptance or you are going to hate it the entire time.

I didn't like the way I looked without braces. I have crooked teeth and without the braces I was very worred what people thought. Now that I have them, even though I still have crooked teeth, I feel better because when people look at me yeah I have crooked teeth BUT I'm getting that fixed with the braces.. Does that make any sense??

Have you looking into Invisalign? If you're so worried about how braces will look, maybe it's an option...
I'm not so keen on the 'look' of braces either, but I want straight teeth, and having a brace is the only way to get the straight teeth I have always wanted.

I meant 'Have you looked into Invisalign?'... that edit button would come in handy sometimes! lol.
Also I totally agree with what shellycassada said.

I do not like how I look in my braces at all- unfortunately I do look a little like I have a mouth guard in, but not as severe. I have a very small mouth though so I figured this would happen. I just try not to look in a mirror so much- as stupid as I think I look most people probably could care less. Its only temporary anyway.
I'm a teacher and while most of my co-workers have seen me- it will be interesting to see how my students react when we start back!

appearance
I always think I'm ugly anyway, but I have a small mouth and I like what I look like better with braces on. I don't think anyone thinks I have that mouthguard look. I'm more willing to look in the mirror now than I ever was before.

Hello brace friends,
