I will be getting my first invisalign tray along with attachments and IPR on Thursday 26th August.I went to view my clincheck yesterday and was told by my ortho that I will receive 23 upper trays and 30 lower. From what I have seen from looking at various forums and blogs, people normally start both trays at the same time and if they need more for one set than the other, they use the last tray as a retainer?
My ortho has told me that on 26th I will receive my bottom tray ONLY and wear that for 14 weeks before I receive my first upper tray. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?
Initially I liked this idea as it means that the treatment would finish at the same time for both trays, but today I have experienced a bad day with my problem tooth on my upper jaw. This tooth is the reason I am getting invisalign, and I will be having it, and the the opposite corresponding tooth extracted before my upper tray starts. I have already been living with the problem since December, and am unsure whether I can put up with it for another 16 weeks!!
I was wondering if the ortho can prevent me from starting both trays at the same time if I ask?
