I'm thinking about getting Invisalign and have been told I have a 5mm overjet with very small overcrowding in my upper (my lower is almost perfect, may need pushing outwards a little bit). My ortho has said the overjet can be reduced to 2.5mm using invisalign (didn't mention elastics). Is 2.5mm a respectable overjet? I can't seem to find what the correct value is meant to be.
I've been told I need to have some teeth shaved too.
If you check out my clincheck, my overjet is pretty substantial, but it's gonna be really tight by the end of the treatment. You might want to consider getting several different consults before you jump into it. It's important to note that invisalign isn't just a product, it has a lot to do w/ your provider too. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply!
Can I ask, how long is the treatment taking you?
I have been to see a Premier Elite provider, he's one of the best in the country for invisalign so I'm happy to go with him. I'd rather pay a bit more than be dissapointed with the final result.
