I get my braces today!

I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I'm hoping to help my migraines by correcting my jaw alignment. It's taken a lot of years to get here, and I'm hoping the next 18 or so months fly by!

Good luck! The first day really isn't that bad, it just feels VERY strange having all that stuff in your mouth! lol

Congrats on your Big day, I think you will find once you get used to them the time will fly by. By the way, my wife has braces for the same reason, and I can say that while the migraines are not gone, it has definatly helpped out.

They do feel really, really strange in my mouth. Really big. Not a lot of pain or soreness yet, thank goodness! :::knocks on wood:::

I was really impressed with the amount of time the ortho took positioning each bracket, measuring, and making tiny adjustments. I wasn't given a choice for band color though. I'm just fine with the low profile ones I have now, but I may ask for something more fun next time!

It will be really interesting to see how my head reacts to my teeth moving around. I've been warned that the headaches might get worse before they get better, but I really need to do this for my mouth too.

So here goes about 18 months!

For some reason, I just stuck with the same boring neutral color for my entire treatment.
You should definitely change it up a bit and have some fun with it!

Mike, I definitely will try for something fun next time. I didn't see any when I got my braces, but I will ask. I couldn't have found the only ortho that doesn't do colors!

Congratulations! I got my braces about a month ago..I remember being a little bummed about not being able to pick the color haha..anyway congrats again!
