Hi everyone,
Could any current or former orthognathic patients with Blue Shield Ca-HMO recommend their surgeon that they had a more than satisfactory/pleasant experience with?
Thanks, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am new here & I have this same type of insurance. I was just curious if you ever found a surgeon and who it was? I'm searching right now Thanks!

Hi Lyddy,
Currently, I'm anticipating to undergo surgery with Dr. Gunson - in Santa Barbara, but as you may know (or read in this forum), he's pricy. But he's out-of-network of course and so my parents will most likely switch insurance companies when open enrollment comes around in April 2012 to see if we can get better coverage.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me - I'll try my best to answer them.

What insurances does Gunson take? or what would your parents be switching to?

lexchomp,
All I know is that my parents will be switching into a PPO plan as HMO will not cover out-of-network surgeries. My dad's medical insurance changes every year I believe as his employer offers different health insurance companies every time enrollment comes around; so I can't tell you what company they'll be switching to next. Also, the finance coordinator at Dr. Gunson's office instructed my dad to contact them when the enrollment period begins so they can assist him on choosing the company that will provide the most coverage. I won't really know anything until April 2012, so all I can do is impatiently wait until then.
I hope that helps.
