New here, having trouble with wires

#1 Post by cuckoomillie »

Hey, so I had two upper bicuspids removed about 4 weeks ago and then had train tracks put on upper and lower teeth about 10 days ago (ceramics on the top). I haven't got any real sores anymore but the wire which goes over the gaps where my teeth were removed is creating a deep groove in each side of my mouth. It doesn't hurt but its really irritating, and for some reason the left side is worse than the right. Obviously I can't really put wax on it, so I was just wondering if there was anything I could do differently to prevent it getting any deeper!
Thanks
Millie

When you go to your ortho next time have them put a rubber guard over the wire--it's a little rubber tube that slips over the end of the wire and will make things more comfortable back there.

I'm having the same problem now. When I went for my first adjustment the tech forgot to put the tube back on and now it's driving me nuts.
