Tonsillectomy & mono @ 47 -- Why not braces @ 48?
Ok, I'm in as of 6/20/2011. My 11 yr old HAS to tell everyone her mom got braces; the 14 yr old who has 3 weeks to go is totally bewildered. Can't I just be low-key???

I just turned 60. My 20 year old daughter is having the last laugh at all my complaining. She keeps saying: "Now you REALLY know what I was experiencing!" When she went through 3 years of braces, I just could not comprehend the pain and the new pain after each adjustment.

Good for you my 17 yr old declined having braces, (at 14) I tried everything to talk him into it but he was having no part of it. He is still against them now. My 10 year is destined for them too, his being a much more needed case than the older one, we have been taking him to the ortho since he was 7 and planning certain extractions and he has a holding arch in already etc to atleast minimize the work he will need. I will be more sympathic now when the little guy gets them on. My plan is to have my treatment all finished before its time for his.
