Impressions taken..... now the impatient wait :)

#1 Post by ponamack »

Hi everyone,
I've just turned 29 and decided that as part of my 'turning 30 overhaul' that I would finally like to correct the snaggletooth/shark tooth up the top, which I have hated for half of my life.
My bottom teeth are also a little bit crowded & crooked. It's been predicted that I will have around 30 aligners to correct my top, not sure about the bottoms though.

I had my impressions taken on 1/07/2011 and am looking forward to viewing my clincheck next Monday.
Then I begin the wait for my first sets of aligners :D

I'm super excited to get started and have been reading quite a bit about other people's experience with theirs.

I'm sure I will have a million more questions when I get underway but for now look forward to talking to you all over the course of our treatments :)

Congrats on going for it. I start set # 10 today of 34. I go back to the Orthodontist in 2 weeks and will be getting elastics at that time. I think thats going to change things up a whole lot.

I think the Invisaligns have been really easy. The worst part is brushing in public bathrooms, but that would be the same or worse with regular braces. Good luck.

Clincheck approved! 21 uppers, 16 lower.
10 attachments and some minimal IPR (which I did not want, but unfortunately I have a tiny mouth and there's just not enough room in there without it being done :("

Scary, but I want straight teeth so it's what has to be done!

Now the next waiting game - apparently I should have my first aligners within the next couple of weeks. Yipee! :)

That wait is the worst, it seems like the day you finally get your trays never arrive

So excited! :) YAYYY

I am completely amazed at how quick this has been for you. You must be so pleased! I had my consultation in February, Invisalign impressions in April and here it is July and I still haven't received a clincheck. I really hope it is worth the wait! Please keep us posted on how you find your treatment as you go along.

Take care!

Congratulations! Making the decision to do this for myself is the best decision I've made in years! I'm lovin what I see when I smile now. I had the same issue, one snaggletooth up and crowding down.

Good luck!

So i've been - they were in for an hour...and already out to have lunch :)
I'm going to a wedding this afternoon so i've been given the OK to leave them out for now and officially 'start' them tonight. I'm pretty pleased about that because they were super tight to get out just now - i'm hoping they'll be a little easier after sleeping in them.
It feels weird having.... stuff... in my mouth. I must have looked a bit special on the train on the way home - i couldn't stop playing with them with my tongue.
I also sound a bit special - i've got a bit of a lisp unless I concentrate really hard on making sure I get my tongue & lips all the way around them.

48 hours down.... I've managed an average of 21.5 hours in both days.
They've been pretty sore - i'm hoping they feel a little better for work tomorrow.
