Nail Biting and Braces

Are there any of you out there that were nail biters before you got braces? And if so can you or do you still bite them now that you have braces?

I am so obsessed with my nails now....LOL

yup I was a chronic nail biter prior to having braces, now I couldn't if I tried!! I hope by the time 2 yrs goes by that the urge is no longer there.

I hope the same thing. I have bitten my nails all my life and now I physically can not do it and I am really happy for that. I just really hope I don't get the urge to do it after these braces come off.....UGH

Not my nails, but I used to bite the cuticles around them and now is totally impossible :wink:
  • Invisalign 1st round: 23/26U - 23/60L - 13 attachments. Stopped at tray 23.
  • Mid-course correction: 15/15U - 37/37L - 11 attachments - DONE!
  • Refinements: 33/33U - 33/33L - 17 attachments - DONE!
  • Refinements 2nd round: 1/18U - 1/18L - 10 attachments

YESSSSSSSSS! I was the worse nail biter. and the skin on my fingers.. gross i know.
I still try ocassionally but braces has made it virtually impossible. So i cut my nails with nail clippers instead.. long nails irritate me!

I was a chronic nail biter as well and since having braces I haven't had the urge to bite them. Hopefully when the braces come off, I don't start biting them again.

I used to before i got my braces... now i have pretty long nails!! i havnt found how to bite em because each time i unconciently try to i just cant, it kinda hurts.

I WAS HUGE, BAD, BAD, BAD Nail biter, can't now initally it drove me insane but after they started growing i went and had acrylic overlay.

Now i have lovely beatuiful nails and i am so happy, braces not only to fix my mass of dental problems saved me from a few bad habbits.

1. Nail biting
2. Eating junk food
3. Eating and trying to crunch on hard lollies
4. Sticking my pen in my mouth ( bad habbit when on the phone)

I will have beautiful nails to match my beautiful smile.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF US REFORMED NAIL BITERS.
