Third set of refinements?

#1 Post by Nav »

My original plan was 6 months and 14U/14L. The ortho told me that I had a minor case and my main aim was to push forward the left lateral incisor, rotate the left central incisor and straighten my lower front 6 teeth.

After two sets of refinements (6U/6L & 5U/5L) my teeth still aren't straight. The central incisor is still not aligned with the other central incisor and the lateral incisor is still behind the central incisor. While I accept that the teeth will never be perfect my second set of refinements put very little pressure on my teeth to the point where movement has been minimal.

I don't expect my ortho or Invisalign to foot the bill for a third set of refinements so does anyone know how much it will cost per aligner? I only need minor movement so I wouldn't predict more than about 7U/7L.

I've attached a photo for you guys to check out. It's a bit deceiving because head on my teeth look a lot straighter than they are but you can make out the rotated central incisor and the pushed back lateral incisor.

Thanks

Most treatments include 3 refinements; but that depends on the contract you have with your ortho. It’s up to your ortho to decide how much to charge you; not Invisalign.

“ …to push forward the left lateral incisor, rotate the left central incisor…” are difficult tooth movements that would take more than 6 months to achieve (especially when your tooth was rotated about 40 degrees). It doesn’t sound like you have a minor case but an experienced orthodontist should be able to complete your treatment to your satisfaction.
