Impacted Canine Help

#1 Post by EpicGlam »

Hi Everybody

I'm 17 years old and I have a impacted canine tooth. My orthodontist is using a TPA device to pull down the impacted canine. He told me my impacted canine is deep in the palate, atleast during my exposure surgery the surgeon couldn't find it right off the bat. We began pulling the tooth with the gold chain around September 2011. I'm going to have my braces on for 3 years. I wanted to know if anyone else had a deep impacted tooth and how long did it take to become visible. Because I have a crooked tooth and we cannot put braces over that until the impacted canine is visible.

Same here. I have an impacted tooth and have been pulling on it for 1 year now and it still hasn't come down. its really close though until my chain broke so now im about to have the surgery again. while i was having the surgery the first time the surgeon at first couldn't find mines and had cut the wrong place then he sowed back up and eventually found my tooth.

I have had the same problem. I had my braces on for over 3 years, along with 4 exposures. About 4 months ago I moved to a new orthodontist because I felt my old one did not know what he was doing.

My impacted canine has been pulled on for 3 years this April. This has not been successful, so new surgical options are being discussed between my oral surgeon and orthodontist.

Sorry I'm not much help, but good luck!
