Hi Jade, I am 42 and had lower jaw advancement surgery at the end of September last year. The swelling hung around to different degrees for about 2 months afterwards (some days I panicked because I would wake up and try out a smile in the mirror and it looked gruesome - by the end of the day my smile looked fine - swelling is definitely worse in the morning).

As for food, my saving grace was mashed up tuna mayo. Really tasty, you don't have to chew it and you feel like you've eaten something! :-*

How did your numbness go? All gone? How long did it take?
