Buttons and second set of trays

#1 Post by Stephskare »

Today I went to have my buttons put on and received my next four sets of trays. I was really surprised to have 13 buttons put on. Does that seem like a lot? I also learned I will have 40 upper and lower trays. I thought by my second set of trays I would be use to the achy pain, but this time has been a bit more painful. I've also had a really bad headache ever since I had my new ones put in. Did any one else experience that?

I was excited to get my future trays so I could peek and see where my teeth will be at in 6 weeks but they seem like the exact same aligners as my first one. Im not going to worry about it. I'm just happy to be on number 2.

I got my 2nd trays yesterday and I'm feeling achy pressure again too. It lasted a week with the first trays then was fine for the 2nd week. I'm hoping it won't last a whole week this time. I don't know about the buttons. I have about 10 and my dentist said it's for the teeth that need to move and rotate the most. I've also heard that with invisalign, the back teeth are moved first so maybe that's why you are not seeing much change in the first few trays. All the best with it :)

13 attachments is on the higher side but definitely not out of the ordinary. I currently have one of my hygienists in aligners and she also has 13. If you'd like to take a look, you can see her ClinCheck and photos on her blog: http://invisaligntoronto.blogspot.ca/

I have 13 buttons too. 8 up top and 5 on the bottom. I've had very little discomfort with my aligners, I think the earlier sets were the worst. I'm currently on set # 29 of 34. Best of luck to you. It does get easier with time.

Thank you guys for your sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it! I don't have anymore pain except for a canker sore and it's become easier to maneuver my trays with my buttons.
