Just got bite turbos and back teeth figured out how to touch

#1 Post by BraceTheSolarSystem »

Hi,

I just got bite turbos 2 days ago to correct a slight overbite. All was good the first 2 days, but my back teeth on the left side just "figured out a way" if you will, to touch each other, not fully come into contact but the buccal tips of the teeth can touch each other and exert a fair amount of force on each other (I am talking everything behind the canines). I cannot do this on the other side at all, although on the other side my premolars can slightly touch. Now the way this is happening is I am just moving my jaw horizontally to the left and they touch. If my jaw is in its normal position none of my back teeth touch when I bite down, the way it's supposed to be. I don't do it while chewing either, because it's hard to chew with your jaw shifted this way and it just doesn't work even if I try to, not sure why. But now that my teeth have figured this out (or I guess I've figured it out haha), I just can't stop doing it, and I'm afraid my bite won't adjust properly, or will adjust unevenly since I can't do it on the other side.

I hope I'm describing this right. Is this normal or should I be worried? Again, I can't bite down but the teeth are touching if I shift my jaw to the left. Should I talk to my ortho about possibly getting molar buildups? Please advise :)

Also, on an unrelated note, I got the bite turbos but not the bottom braces yet, which does not make sense to me. If I have the turbos doesn't that mean there is no danger of my top incisors hitting the bottom braces? My ortho said I would be getting them next time.

Interesting. I am aware when I get my upper fixed on 22 June I will also have a removable bite plate to be worn all times except cleaning-I have absolutely no idea how I am going to eat!
