Hello everyone. I am 30 years old and recently got braces almost a month ago. So far, I only have them on the top, with brackets on the front molars on both sides. I just had the brackets put on yesterday, and boy they are sharp! My checks and tongue are already pretty tore up. Googling the problem is what led me to this forum. Looking forward to interacting with everyone.

Hi welcome :-1 Yep, they sure make a mess of cheeks when you first get them on :( Thankfully they seem to get less sharp as time goes on (and then something sharp just seems to crop up randomly and cause an ulcer for a few days only to go away again without any obvious reason behind it). Hope your mouth adjusts soon!

HI there! I'm new as well. Just got my braces Tuesday, and I am 33 yo.

The inside of my cheeks are pretty tore up, too. I try to put wax on trouble spots before bed and take it out in the morning, and that helps a lot when I wake up and during the day with soreness.

Clear braces on top with bite turbos, standard on bottom
Will have them for 12-15 months

I haven't had too much soreness until a couple of nights ago when I woke up and my tongue had stuck to my lingual brace at the top. Ouch! I think my mouth had got too dry in the night. Make sure you take a big glass of water to bed with you!
