Seventeen days ago I got my lower teeth wired and silicon bumpers attached to the tops of the brackets. I had a few days of not knowing where to put my lower jaw and eating anything tougher than yogurt was sheer agony. Well my lower jaw is now meeting up with my uppers and I can chew......MY LOWER LIP! My lower lip keeps getting in the way of chewing and talking and I find myself biting my lip. It's like my lower central and lateral incisors have already moved into a new position and my lip doesn't know what to do or where to go!
I've put a strip of silicon wax along the bottom of my upper brackets and hopefully this will work.
Has this happened to any of you folks out there?

I went through a phase like this. I think I was biting on my canines or laterals. It went on for awhile, but seems to have subsided.
