Rachel's 6 month smile (With pics!)

So I've been silently visiting these forums the past couple years dreaming of the day I would finally get braces as well. I wasn't sure if I'd want to ever make a post showing my progress but I decided why not after 5 months so far and seeing a dramatic change in my teeth so far for the 6 month smile dealio. I also considered on posting only until I had enough pics to show progress right away instead of making you guys wait to see it happen :P

I just turned 25 and all my life I was really self-conscious about my smile and never laughed with my teeth or smiled with my teeth showing. I had really low self esteem about it and felt like I always looked angry because I always tried not to smile even if I found something to be funny. The first day of my appt. and getting approved credit to get these braces I literally cried tears of joy that's how important this has been to me.

I don't know how much more time I have left to finish but I feel like there's been incredible movement in so little time. The first week was pretty brutal in terms of swelling and mouth pain. I think it was on the 4th/5th day the pain subsided and all was fine then. I want to say I felt one tooth (my lateral incisor) move each day I woke up the first 2 weeks even. I could literally wake up and look in the mirror and see the movements.

I wish I got a better -first- picture of my teeth initially. The date I got my braces was on 4/22 I believe so I took my first picture several days later but I definitely remember and seeing movements so fast.

WOW!! Even the 7 days between the first 2 pictures your teeth moved so much! And they're beautiful even now, only 6 months in! Superhero teeth :shock: you look great!!

That one incisor on the right of the picture moved really really quickly within the first 2 weeks of even having the braces on.
The other lateral incisor starts moving pretty soon too...
