Next month (march) will be 2 years that I've had on braces, they're originally planned to be taken off next month. However that's not what seems to be happening since my orthodontist is basically incompetent to fix one simple thing...and that's my arch. I can't post a picture because I haven't posted enough but I'll try my best to explain it...
My left side is straight, everything is in proportion. My RIGHT side, it slants up. The canine on the right is way shorter than the left, and the second tooth (one between the front & canine) slightly slants a bit upwards in the same direction as the canine as well. So when I smile, it's not a perfect arch straight across.
1st time I went in addressing this concern, all they did was put in another arch wire.
2nd time I went in was because that arch wire did nothing. Nothing changed, I didn't feel anything either.
So when I went the 2nd time, the other orthodontist was there that day. (one fills in for days the other doesn't work) she actually took her sweet time examining my mouth which my primary ortho never does, she knew exactly what I was talking about and I was so pleased with that. So what she did was make a bend in the wire so that the upper right area can be brought down to where it needs to be. I'm not a orthodontic genius but this is what I assumed needed to be done all along. I left there so happy thinking that this was it, this is going to finally make it all even! ......No.
My smile still looks exactly the same. Two weeks went by, nothing....which it doesn't take even a week for me to see a difference, when I get repositions I see a difference within a few hours.
My third visit was a few days ago...same ortho was there as last time, told the clinical and the ortho what happened or more so what didn't happen. All they did was blame me for not wearing rubber bands enough. When I asked them if they could possibly adjust the bend in the wire, they told me they couldn't do that because I would get root damage.
Uh.. if your intention was of pulling down my teeth by bending the wire in the first place, why are you concerned about my roots getting damaged when my teeth DID NOT move???
And what bothered me was that I left there just getting my color changed and having them book my next appointment for 6 weeks later. Not to mention, that appointment (few days ago) was a de-band check, SO close to getting them off and now here I am having to wait another 6 weeks.
This is why I need someone else's advice and to tell me if I'm being ignorant and that I should just keep wearing my rubber bands for the next 6 weeks which I already have been doing or should I speak up?

Note: The way I'm wearing the rubber bands is 'boxes' on each side.
