Mature Newbie - No problems, no pain

#1 Post by AZjudy »

I am late to the party. I will be 68 in August, but I think that it is better late than never. My new joke: Q: What do you call a 68 year old woman with Invisalign? A: an optimist.

Currently on 2nd set of 28 trays and have 15 attachments. Not sure if it's a good thing or not, but have experienced zero pain. Seriously expected some level of discomfort, and was resigned to what seemed to be a universal experience. Now I'm just hoping that no pain does not equal no gain. Aligners are tight and I do feel an allowable amount of pressure. It takes a bit of work to remove them.

I look forward to reading of the experiences of users and wish us all Happy Smiles.

That's great! Congratulations on starting your journey!

I haven't had too much in the way of pain, either, and I'm currently on my 13th set. There have been a few sets that were a bit uncomfortable, but even that pain was mostly only when I went to take them out. The rest of the time my teeth felt fine. Occasionally I'll feel a bit of a twinge, but that's it. I've never had to take any pain medication for it or anything like that. Here's hoping you continue to have such a positive experience!

Congratulations on going ahead with treatment! We have had some patients in their 60s and 70s in Invisalign so you are not alone!

Not everyone experiences pain when in Invisalign, so tooth movement can still occur without it. Consider yourself lucky :). Good luck!
