braces on veneers

Hi Users :)

I'm thinking of going ahead and getting braces for my upcoming birthday (present to myself ha ha !)

I have veneers on my four front teeth - I'm wandering if this will affect my chances of getting braces at all ? They are pretty worn after 10 years

I'll be interested in the answers that you get. I don't have veneers, but have three crowns. I was worried about how they'd respond to braces, but apparently there's really no difference in how they move. The main thing is that it's harder to keep the brackets glued to ceramic. They told me this up front, and I've certainly found it to be true. I've had four brackets come off, and three of them were on crowns.

Thank you for your reply - my dentist told me braces on veneers normally isn't a problem only if the bonding is worn and the veneer could come away from the tooth - this worries me as three seem good but one is slipping very slowly over time and I was wandering if others out there had encountered any problems x
